Greetings, Jaguar Nation - TJMS family, friends, and partners,
As we embark on another transformative academic year, it is with great anticipation and heartfelt enthusiasm that I welcome each of you back to our vibrant educational community. This year, under the theme of "Homecoming," we reaffirm our commitment to fostering unified community dedicated to excellence, advocacy, wellness, and safety—the values that define who we are as Jaguar Nation.
Our Vision for SY25: Together, we will set and achieve ambitious goals that encourage every student to reach their highest potential. Our academic priorities are rigorous yet supportive, designed to develop critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and meaningful integration of technology. By embedding strategies like structured academic discussions and collaborative conversations, we aim to prepare our
scholars for an ever-evolving global landscape.
Our School Performance Plan (SPP) Goals for this year include:
● Increasing the percentage of students achieving proficiency on the Math MCAP by 25% by June 2025.
● Increasing the percentage of students achieving proficiency on the RELA MCAP by 25% by June 2025.
● Reducing the number of repeat behavioral incidents tracked in Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions by 30% by the end of the year through SEL interventions, peer mediation, and restorative practices.
● Reducing the number of repeat behavioral incidents tracked in Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions by 30% by the end of the 2024-2025 school year as measured by the intervention tracker and ISS intake data. This will be achieved through consistent
implementation of restorative practices, SEL interventions, and the peer mediation program.
We are resolute in providing inclusive and equitable opportunities that ensure no child is left behind in their quest for knowledge and personal growth.
Strengthening Community Partnerships: The involvement of parents, guardians, and community members is crucial in actualizing our shared aspirations. This year, the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) will serve as advisory and thought partners, supporting our turnaround work and helping to create the best middle school in Prince George’s County Public Schools. Your voice, insights, and collaboration are invaluable as we strive to enhance academic performance, promote wellness, and foster a culture of excellence for all.
A Unified Commitment: As we move forward, let us remain steadfast in our core values (P.A.W.S.). These values are the foundation upon which we will build another year of remarkable growth, unity, and achievement.
● Purpose: Embodying intentionality in all we do.
● Advocacy: Championing the needs and voices of our students.
● Wellness: Nurturing the holistic well-being of our community.
● Safety: Cultivating an environment where every individual feels secure and valued.
Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and dedication to Jaguar Nation. Together, let’s make this year unforgettable—a year of purpose, advocacy, wellness, and safety.
In gratitude and service,
Dr. Kia Cadet Principal
